The platypus: the duckbilled, beaver tailed, otter footed, egg laying creature it was thought could not be real! It was considered too unusual and unique to possibly be true!
But today these differences are recognised the world over: a rare collection of parts that make a distinctive, memorable whole. And we are still learning about the platypus – it’s a story nowhere near complete
